TERN Titanium is a pocket fountain pen made from Grade 2 titanium, combining compact dimensions, low weight, and mechanical simplicity.
At just 103 mm (4.06 in) long when closed and 11 mm (0.43 in) in diameter, TERN Titanium weighs approximately 23 g (0.81 oz) including the ink cartridge. Titanium’s high strength-to-weight ratio makes it light enough for everyday pocket carry while maintaining a solid, durable construction.
TCR — Thread Cover Ring
One of TERN’s defining features is the TCR (Thread Cover Ring) system developed by Thorn Mill.
When the pen is closed, the TCR covers the threads at the rear of the body, maintaining TERN’s clean, uninterrupted cylindrical profile. When the cap is posted for writing, the TCR moves to the front to cover the exposed cap threads.
This allows TERN to maintain a clean, finished form both when closed and while in use.
Black Kaweco Nib
TERN Titanium is fitted with a black Kaweco fountain pen nib, creating a subtle contrast with the titanium body. The black nib complements the pen’s understated metal finish and mechanical character.
TERN uses readily available Standard International Short ink cartridges, with no proprietary cartridge system required.
Individually Made
TERN Titanium is not a mass-produced pen.
Each component is individually machined from Grade 2 titanium on a manual lathe. The threads and knurled details are machined individually, the surfaces are finished by hand, and the components are fitted together one by one.
Because of this production method, small variations may occur from one TERN to another. These are a natural result of each pen being individually made.
